Ashbrook Family by Helen Hutchcraft and Julia Spencer Ardery

Felix Grundy Ashbrook, son of Aaron, grandson of Aaron, great grandson of John, was born in Hampshire County WA 1768; died in Harrison County 1843. He married Elizabeth Todd (born 1768; died in Harrison County JY 1838, Daughter of John Todd by his first wife.

According to family tradition, this Felix Grundy Ashbrook was at one time in the Fort Boonesboro.

Felix Grundy Ashbrook had two children, Aaron and Cassandra.

The family came to Harrison County KY from Bourbon County KY in 1804 and lived on their farm on Indian Creek until 1821, when they moved to their farm on Mill Creek, three miles from Cynthiana.

Felix and his son, Aaron, both died in the old stone house and were buried on the place. (My note: Elizabeth is probably buried here also as she died before Felix.)

Aaron Ashbrook and his sister, Cassandra Ashbrook, married sister and brother, Sara Stewart Veach and Joseph Veach, the children of Thomas Veach, born April 19, 1770, died Sept 19, 1842, and Jane Stewart Huff Veach born July 8, 1765, died Oct 11, 1840, married Sept 30, 1790.

Lorraine’s NOTES:
We need to take a second look at the family of Rev. John Todd of Paris, Bourbon Co. Kentucky.

1. Is it possible that he had 2 wifes? We know that the Rev John Todd died in 1809, in Paris Bourbon Co., which is the year John Todd Sr. died in Bourbon Co. KY. Where his Will was probated.

2. What was the name of Rev. John Todd’s wife (1st ?) and when did she die? If he’s first wife died and he remarried, who did he marry and when?

3. Is it possible that it is Mary (unknown) of John Todd Sr.’ Will?

4. Is it possible that Mary Williams of Goochland VA was his first wife and he married another Mary as mentioned in the Will of John Todd Sr?
